A sculptural bowl rises above a flared base in this Vento pedestal, with pistachio-and-white enamel outlined in gold tone. The food-safe aluminum-alloy form has a 14-inch serving width and seven-inch rise, giving a generous salad, fruit or shared dish a prominent place. Its rhythmic curves supply the decorative interest rather than a printed design.

“When I use a tall serving piece, I think first about how people will reach it. Vento's beautiful height is most useful with lower dishes beside it and a clear approach for the serving spoon.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Maker / Heritage

Cuban-born designer Beatriz Ball began working with metal artisans outside Mexico City in 1991. Her signature metalware is still made one piece at a time in the brand’s own foundry in Mexico: sand casting gives the forms their character, and successive hand-polishing stages bring out the alloy’s silvery luster. More than twelve pairs of hands take part in the making. The appeal is that combination of expressive shape and useful purpose, with the warmth of handwork and none of silver’s routine tarnish polishing.

Encanto adds color to the cast-metal tradition: enamel and gold-tone details emphasize the curves and edges, making the form as much a part of the table as the food it holds.
